78 illegal dump sites mapped across 16 local communities of Zavidovici
In the village of Crnjevo near Vozuća, three dump sites hold 50 m³ of waste, active for over 15 years. At Rupin Do near Asim Čamdžić, 150 m³ of waste has accumulated over 30+ years.
With GPS equipment and GIS technology, our team visited every location. Coordinates, waste type, quantity, age, and remediation potential were recorded for all 78 dump sites.
In the Mahoje area, all 6 dump sites were successfully remediated. In Ribnica, 7 of 10 locations were cleaned. Every green dot on the map represents a victory for our environment.
Of 78 mapped dump sites, 43 have been successfully remediated. That is over half of all illegal disposal sites in the Zavidovici area.
35 dump sites still require attention. 14 locations can be remediated with adequate resources, while 20 require more complex interventions.
Systematic mapping and remediation show that change is possible. Of 300+ m³ of documented waste, a significant portion has been removed from our environment.
This is not just a campaign. This is a movement. Krivaja is our treasure.
