A meeting was held with schools in BiH interested in joining the European River Saver School Network, which brings together representatives from over 20 countries.
UDEG held a meeting with 4 schools in Bosnia and Herzegovina that are interested in joining the European River Saver School Network.
The River Saver School Network is a European network that brings together representatives from over 20 countries, with the goal of educating young people about river and aquatic ecosystem protection through practical work and international cooperation.
A key role in connecting UDEG with this network was played by Dr. Safet Kubat, the representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the network. Thanks to his engagement, UDEG was included in the EU Danube Region project, as well as in the KRIOT project (Krivaja is Our Treasure).
The meeting was an opportunity for the schools to learn about the possibilities that network membership offers — from access to educational materials and methodologies, to participation in international projects and exchanges.
Schools that join the network become part of a community that actively works on river protection through practical teaching, waterway monitoring, and organizing cleanup actions with the support of international partners.
This is an important step in strengthening environmental education in BiH and connecting our local initiatives with the broader European movement for river protection.
